About Us
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide an avenue to creative expression, to heighten self esteem, and to teach students to express themselves with clarity.
Vision Statement
The arts will play a significant role in the lives of children & youth by helping them to become confident and self-sufficient that will enable them to lead a prosperous and disciplined life.
History
The Palace Performing & Visual Arts (PPVA) was originally founded in 2005 to provide music, dance, and drama classes to underprivileged children and youth at various local area schools, churches, and communities in low income areas.
In 2007, PPVA expanded its programs and services to the community to include more educational, cultural arts, recreational and substance-free activities. These programmatic services provide participants with an opportunity to meet their emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Also, this expansion aided in building the confidence in each participant which leads to positive growth and development in artistic skills.
PPVA provides participants with opportunities to identify, develop, and build artistic skills that will benefit them for a lifetime. Classes are structured by age and experience to insure that each student has an opportunity to participate at a level that is appropriate for their ability.
Our Goals are to:
1. Encourage self-expression, self-esteem, communication, and creativity, thereby fostering a sense of self-worth, ownership, and accomplishment in participants.
2. Empower children and youth to intensify their knowledge and talents.
3. Embrace all cultures regardless of economic status, ethnicity or character.
4. Endorse, produce and present the performing and visual arts at a high level of excellence.
5. Entertain and inspire the community to develop cultural awareness and gain an appreciation for the arts.
